Laboratory director Kelvin McMillan displays the speedier machine and test kit items the hospital and
clinic are using to detect influenza. Patients are testing positive in about equal numbers to influenza A and
influenza B, McMillan said. About 60 patients were diagnosed with flue in the first five days from
February 9-14. The equipment takes 15 minutes to scan a nasal swab and display the test results.
