Chapel

A quiet place to pray, think, or rest opened in 2005 at Mercy Health/Love County Hospital and Clinic for use by patients and visitors.

It is a one-room chapel, located on the west side of the hospital lobby.

Members of the hospital/clinic mission team spent several months searching for just the right furnishings.

Various team members, including Connie Barker, Richard Barker, Charlene Frazier, Ann Langston, Marie Ross and Rick Stephens traveled to Pauls Valley to purchase blue stained glass and to Ada for a cherry wood lectern and the pews.

Entry is through a solid wood door with a frosted-glass window. Seating consists of three 4-foot pews and one 6-foot pew. An open Bible rests on a credenza along one wall. The room is carpeted. Recessed lighting casts a warm glow.

Local contractors helped convert the former office space to its present peaceful use.
